Salary Range: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

The company is now looking to expand their team with a highly motivated Estimator who is ready to hit the ground running and contribute to their growing success. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in retail fit-out projects and will play a key role in ensuring the company continues to secure and deliver high-value contracts



Role Overview:



As an Estimator, your primary responsibility will be to manage the estimating function across a variety of retail fit-out projects. You will be working closely with the project teams, including the Buyer, to ensure accurate and competitive pricing for new projects. The role will require you to manage the end-to-end estimating process, from handling enquiries and conducting site surveys to producing Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and seeing projects through from inception to completion



This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Estimator with fit-out experience who is looking for a challenging and rewarding role within a fast-paced, high-growth SME contractor



Key Responsibilities:



Manage the full estimating process for retail fit-out projects, ensuring accurate and timely submissions



Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop competitive bids and accurate cost plans



Attend site visits to conduct surveys and assess project requirements



Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQs), cost breakdowns, and tender submissions



Respond to client enquiries and provide quotations for potential projects



Collaborate with the Buyer on day-to-day procurement tasks and subcontractor engagement



Monitor project costs and work with the project team to ensure costs are maintained throughout the project lifecycle



Support the project team with cost control, budgeting, and project delivery from initial concept to final handover



Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure effective collaboration throughout each project



Liaise with the senior management team to ensure the timely submission of tenders and project approvals



Skills & Experience:



Proven experience as an Estimator, with a strong background in retail fit-out projects



Demonstrable experience with site surveys, BoQs, and preparing accurate costings and estimates



In-depth knowledge of the retail fit-out sector, including project delivery from inception to completion



Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost management



Ability to handle multiple tenders simultaneously and manage competing deadlines



Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams



Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving



Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a collaborative team



Local to Manchester, with a willingness to travel to sites across the region



Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools



Desirable:



A degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or a related field



Experience in working within an SME contractor environment



Knowledge of cost planning and risk management for fit-out projects



Working Hours & Flexibility:



Full-time, office-based with occasional site visits



Flexibility for occasional remote working or flexible hours if needed
