The Opportunity

This role is designed for someone at the beginning of their commercial career – a recent graduate or career professional with the potential to grow into a Junior National Account Manager, National Account Manager, Commercial Manager and beyond. You don’t need to know everything on day one, but you’ll need curiosity, confidence, and a strong foundation in numerical thinking.

As a National Account Executive, you’ll play a vital role in supporting both our senior commercial team and their accounts and managing smaller customer accounts directly. You’ll handle key administrative tasks for our major national accounts, as well as develop hands-on experience owning secondary customer relationships, building supplier partnerships, and contributing to sales planning and forecasting.

Location: Trafford Park, Manchester

Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum + up to 10% annual bonus

Working Pattern: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

Major Account Administration (Support to Senior Commercial Manager):

  • Assist the Senior Commercial Manager in managing key accounts with day-to-day coordination and admin.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and communications.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to gather and share product, pricing, and logistics info.
  • Manage documentation, including new line forms and pricing updates.
  • Track and report on account activity and ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration.

Secondary Account Management (With Support):

  • Manage smaller customer accounts with support from the Senior Commercial Manager.
  • Build strong client relationships and ensure high service levels.
  • Coordinate daily account activities and respond to issues quickly.
  • Support sales planning, performance tracking, and supplier negotiations.
  • Identify opportunities for new listings based on insight and feedback.
  • Work with NPD, supply chain, and finance teams to align on feasibility, pricing, and timelines.
  • Own and monitor your channel P&L, keeping internal trackers updated and escalating risks as needed.
  • Create performance reports and market insights for internal stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Confident working with numbers, spreadsheets, and data analysis
  • Clear and effective communicator with both internal teams and external partners
  • Highly organised and reliable, with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive and curious, always looking for improvements and solutions
  • Emotionally intelligent and adaptable in your communication style
  • Relevant degree (e.g. Business, Marketing, Economics) or equivalent experience
  • Interest in the food industry and how products move from supplier to customer
  • Comfortable using Excel, PowerPoint, and general business systems
  • Experience or exposure to FMCG, wholesale, retail, or supply chain is a plus
  • Eager to learn from hands-on commercial experience
  • Open to feedback and willing to step out of your comfort zone
  • Honest, practical, and trusted to get things done
  • Motivated to grow into a customer-facing commercial or sales role
