Job Description
The Internal Audit Manager - Professional Practices will be tasked with:
- Developing, reviewing, training and enforcement of the GIA internal audit methodology.
- Provision of a quality assurance and improvement programme (QAIP) to ensure consistency and quality of assurance in line with the methodology.
- Supporting the Director of Internal Audit and SLT to build and maintain IA reputation at the highest levels of the organisation.
- Enhancing the profile of Group Internal Audit by always acting in a professional manner, maintaining objectivity and independence, supporting requests for information.
- Working collaboratively with the SLT to drive the risk assessment and planning process to ensure delivery of a responsive, risk-based audit plan which addresses key strategic and business model risks.
- Developing and maintaining the Internal Audit methodology, including supporting templates, guidance, training and rollout across the team, aligning to good practice.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
- Experience of delivery of assurance work in a financial services environment.
- Good knowledge of assurance and oversight methodologies.
- Outcome focused.
- Good working knowledge of UK regulation and key areas of regulatory focus from PRA and FCA.
- Good understanding of the requirements of the GIAS, IIA Code and IA good practice.
- Good understanding of SharePoint and Teams, in particular structuring of metadata to support automation of reporting.
- Self-motivated, proactive and innovative in approach, team-player and experience of training and coaching individuals to achieve consistency and quality in delivery.
