We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Payroll Developer with expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12 to join our ERP team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle Payroll modules, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, and supporting integrations with other systems. You will play a critical role in enhancing the reliability and performance of payroll operations across the organisation.
Assesses user training needs and trains users in effective use of Oracle applications, make recommendations regarding Oracle.
This position requires deep technical knowledge of Oracle Payroll within the EBS 12.2.13 environment, with a strong understanding of fast formulas, concurrent programs, and payroll processing flows.
Main responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and support the Oracle EBS 12.2.13 Payroll module, including earnings, deductions, tax calculations, and year-end processes.
- Work with key stakeholders within the business to ensure Oracle is used effectively and efficiently.
- Adhere to standard IT administrative procedures – helpdesk fault logging, change control, problem management, documentation, and asset management.
- Develop and maintain Fast Formulas, Payroll Elements, Payroll Definitions, Balance Feeds, and User Hooks.
- Support end-to-end payroll processes including pre-payroll, costing, payments, and third-party remittance.
- Troubleshoot payroll issues and resolve errors in BEE (Batch Element Entry), QuickPay, and standard payroll runs.
- Create and maintain interfaces and custom reports using PL/SQL, XML Publisher, Oracle Reports, and BI Publisher.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and test enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with legal and tax regulations.
- Participate in system upgrades, patching, cloning, and regression testing.
- Provide technical support during payroll audits and year-end activities.
- Work closely with Oracle Support for SR (Service Request) resolution.
- Provide support and problem resolution assistance to the IT Support Team as required.
- Be willing to travel to and work from any of the ComfortDelGro Europe sites if necessary.
- Will be available to work non-business hours and be available for on-call duties if the need arises.
- Will be aware of market trends in both the Transport and IT industries.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle EBS Payroll, including version 12.2.13. Good organisational and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of U.K. payroll processing, tax rules, and government reporting.
- Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, Fast Formulas, and Concurrent Processing.
- Experience in developing and maintaining inbound/outbound integrations (e.g., GL, Benefits, Timekeeping).
- Be able to organise own work, setting priorities, be proactive and meet project timelines.
- Strong understanding of the Oracle HRMS data model and payroll architecture.
- Familiarity with ADI, WebADI, and Oracle Workflow.
- Oracle certifications in Payroll or HRMS is a bonus.
- Prior experience with payroll conversions or implementations.
- The right attitude to problem resolution, with a desire to provide a first-class service to IT users.
- A willingness and ability to work in a pressurised environment.
- A good ability to be a self-starter and willingness to learn new things.
- Proven strengths in analysis, and an ability to think creatively to achieve solutions.
- Good skills in adapting, multi-tasking and troubleshooting.

- Good practical knowledge of computer networks, systems and database security.
- Familiarity with SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to develop strong working relationships.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Experience in creating reports via various BI tools.
- Have an awareness of the functions, operations and technology employed within ComfortDelGro Europe.
- Able to explain technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users.
- Strengths in logical analysis, and an ability to think creatively to deliver solutions.
- Skills in adapting, multi-tasking and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA advantageous.
Hours of work
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
